Danish Cultural Institute Benelux

The Danish Cultural Institute/Benelux is an independent institution established in 1940, supported by the Danish Ministry of Culture. Our Benelux office opened in 1948.  From years of experience, the staff of the Danish Cultural Institute/Benelux has gained a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of other countries and has developed strong cultural networks. The staff offers professional expertise in the organization of cultural events.

The Scandinavian Language School

The Danish Cultural Institute/Benelux also runs the Scandinavian Language School in our centrally located office in Brussels. It is the only school in Belgium teaching all the Scandinavian languages – Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Icelandic.

These courses are an ideal opportunity to learn the Scandinavian language of interest; both for businesses in Benelux working with Scandinavian companies or businessmen from Benelux going to Denmark or any of the other Scandinavian countries. Courses are run as classes or individually. We are able to set up special courses that live up to any special requirement that you and your company might have.

Dialogue and Exchange

The mission of the Danish Cultural Institute is to create network, dialog and exchange of Danish arts, culture and society. In our offices case within the Benelux countries. We aim to strengthen international understanding by arranging study trips, cultural exchanges through art exhibitions, concerts etc. and providing information about Denmark. The philosophy of the Danish Cultural Institute is based upon a concept of culture that embraces the arts, culture and society.

The Danish Cultural Institute promotes sustainable cooperation supporting projects that aim at a lasting cooperation between foreign and Danish cultural institutions, artists and other professionals.
